EICAS Automazione S.p.A. is a small-size high-tech Italian engineering company located in Torino, independent of any industrial group. The core of EICAS background concerns dynamic system modeling, simulation and control, signal theory and applied mathematics. The main activity areas include space, automotive and industrial automation. They deal with automatic digital control design, numerical data, signals and images elaboration with development of special digital sensors, development of software tools for automatic control design and rapid control prototyping, development of sophisticated techniques for safety, FDIR and dependability, vehicle control, spacecraft attitude determination and control, handling of flexible materials, discrete manufacturing automation.
EICAS is responsible for the overall project coordination and will also lead the technical project activities. In fact EICAS has a central role in the development of the disruptive innovation, having conceived and developed the innovative methodology for spacecraft attitude determination at the basis of ARGO. Specifically, EICAS is leading the tasks related to system concept & test plan definition, software implementations and performance assessment and exploitation and dissemination. The company is in charge to provide the ARGO 1.0 payload, composed of 3 ARGO camera and 1 ARGO RPCU, to be assessed up to TRL9 through in orbit demonstration.
Tyvak International S.r.l. is an Italian SME, established in 2015 as one of the operating groups of Terran Orbital corporation. The corporation’s technical team is one of the most experienced small satellite groups in the industry with unique experience and capabilities in the development of nano- and micro- satellite missions and advanced technologies.
Within the project, Tyvak will co-operate with EICAS by providing the satellite platform (8U) - in which the ARGO 1.0 prototype is installed - and being in charge of driving the overall In-Orbit Demonstration operations.
